Our mission
We have decided to redefine the bed industry, one pillow fight at a time.
The textile industry has long been dominated by cotton as the most important fabric for the production of sheets.
Unfortunately, cotton is quite harmful to the environment because it takes a lot of water and chemicals to produce and grow it.
We don't like it, so we did something about it...
A good laugh and a good night's sleep are the two best cures for everything, that's just it.
How it all began
Our history
HIT THE HAY is a Swedish company that aims to make our industry better, in every way. But before I tell you more about the company, let me tell you a story first!
I was quite young when a wise man once told me;
"There are two things you should really invest your money in, a good pair of shoes and great bedding." Why? I asked. "Because these are the things in which you spend most of your life, you are either asleep or on your feet," replied the wise man.
Let's just say I didn't listen to the wise man…
If we fast forward a bit, I remembered that the wise old man said something about investing in good quality bedding. The only problem was that I couldn't find what I was looking for. I knew the cotton industry was draining our planet of water and polluting it with chemicals so I didn't want to support it.
I heard about a fabric called Lyocell, a fabric made from wood pulp with an award-winning end-loop system that recycles both water and the non-toxic chemicals used in the manufacturing process. At the same time, the fabric had a lot of other benefits such as being super soft on the skin, naturally antibacterial, hypoallergenic and taking breathability to the next level.
I decided to take matters into my own hands and create an eco-friendly alternative to bedding but with great benefits. Here at HIT THE HAY we think that environmental friendliness should be rewarded not the other way around...
Now back to the company.
We want to help you improve one of the most important things in your life, sleep. I mean we sleep 1/3 of our lives so it's kind of a big deal. So much of our lives is affected by how we sleep. Our jobs, our relationships, perhaps most importantly, just how we feel. So if we can make you sleep better, maybe we can make your life a little better.
We do this by using innovative materials, maximizing comfort in our products and constantly looking for new ways to innovate and develop.
