Our mission

We set out to redefine the bedding industry, one pillow fight at a time.

The textile industry has long been dominated by Cotton as the main choice of fabric for making bed sheets.

Unfortunately Cotton is quite harmful to the environment due to heavy usage of water and chemicals when you manufacture and grow it.

We don't like that, so we did something about it...

„A good laugh and a long sleep are the two best cures for anything, that's just the way it is”

Our history

HIT THE HAY is a Swedish company set out to make our industry better, in all ways. But before I tell you more about the company, let me tell you a story first! I was quite young when a wise man once told me; "There are two things you should really invest your money in, a great pair of shoes, and great bed linens." Why? I asked. "Because these are the things you spend most of your life in, you either sleep or are on your feet" the wise man answered.

Lets just say I didn't listen to the wise man... If we fast forward a bit, I remembered that wise old man saying something about investing in good quality bed linens.

The only problem was I couldn't find what I was looking for. I knew that the cotton industry was draining our planet from water and polluting it with chemicals so I didn't want to support that. I heard of a fabric called Lyocell, a fabric made from wood pulp with a reward winning close-loop system recycling both water and the non-toxic chemicals that are used in the manufacturing process. At the same time, the fabric had a bunch of other advantages such as being super soft to the skin, naturally antibacterial, hypoallergenic and taking breathability to the next level.

I decided to take the matters into my own hands and create an eco-friendly option for bed linens but with great advantages. Here at HIT THE HAY we think that being eco-friendly should be rewarded not the other way around... Now back to the company. We want to help you improve one of the most important things in your life, sleep. I mean we do sleep 1/3 of our lives so it's kind of a big deal. So much of our lives are affected by how we sleep.

Our jobs, our relationships, perhaps most important, just how we feel. So if we can make you sleep better, perhaps we can make your life a little bit better. We do this by using innovating materials, maximizing comfort in our products and constantly searching for new ways to improve sleep.

Follow our journey and welcome to HIT THE HAY.
